In June 2022, Kenward Trust implemented a Street Outreach Service in Memory of John Chadwick, a former resident at the Trust.

John Chadwick had become Street Homeless in London for 2 years, and later transferred to Kenward Trusts Rehabilitation Programme, by St Mungos Homeless Charity, in 2007. He met his best friend Dee Bonett in 2008, who was so inspired by his journey, later became employed at the Trust on 2nd December 2010.

The Street Reach Team, is managed by Dee Bonett and Paula Da Silva. They assist Soup Kitchens in the Maidstone Town Centre, feeding those facing crisis.

Documentation has evidenced how vital this service has become, when supporting those deemed as vulnerable or alone, and for those whose only companions may be their pets.

The Street Reach Team have an abundance of experience within substance misuse, housing, benefits, and relevant referral pathways, which has built effective and strong partnerships within the community.

Kenward Trust requires essential fundraising to support the operation of The Street Reach Service. The funds will be allocated to the following areas:

To expand the operation of The Street Reach Service further. The team currently operate within limited hours.

Relevant equipment required for an efficient service, including mobile phones, laptops and uniform.

To attend vital community meetings and events, when supporting relevant organisations.

To create promotional materials such as leaflets, business cards and posters to advertise The Street Reach Services available.

Kenward Trust would like to thank the public for any support given, no matter how small the donation.

Thank you for your support.

In memory of John Chadwick
